Relation locus of control on prevalence of depresivity by infertil person
Blašková, Ivana ; Loneková, Katarína (advisor) ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (referee)
This master thesis deals with infertility and its treatment. Both in the theoretical and empirical part, it focuses on the female aspects of the issue. The theoretical part summarizes an overview of key information important to understand the presented problems. We define the terms, describe the psychological and physiological causes of infertility, the process of treatment of infertility and aspects thereof. We focus on the depression rate related to infertility and its treatment, furthermore, we deal with type locus of control related to the experienced rate of depression. Our aim in the empirical part is to describe the depression rate, type of locus of control within the two samples of women acquired by us and capture the possible connections. The sample is made of 58 women who are currently undergoing a treatment for infertility and of the control group, which is made of 58 healthy women. To collect the data, we used the Beck Depression Inventory BDI-II, the Rotter's Internal- External Scale and the anamnestic questionnaire. Based on acquired data, we found out some specifity in depression rate and type of locus of control within our samples of women.
Ethical issues of surrogacy
BARCZIOVÁ, Aneta
This thesis has a theoretical character and deals with the issue of surrogacy in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to approach the essential ethical issues and show how the institute of surrogacy is regulated by Czech law. Furthermore, this work shows the role played by a social worker in the institute and it also deals with the family, which is unique and an irreplaceable institution. It is known that the number of infertile couples is increasing today and surrogacy is one of the methods of infertility assistance in which even these couples can become parents. In the Czech Republic, however, the institute of surrogacy is only minimally regulated by law and is ethically unacceptable to many people around the world. At this thesis, I point out that it is important that, in future, the institute of surrogacy be fully regulated, that there should be no abuse of this institute and that the negative effects that may occur should be avoided.
The effects of epigenetic factor PRDM9 on the fertility of rodent females
Gašić, Srdan ; Trachtulec, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Děd, Lukáš (referee) ; Fulková, Helena (referee)
The Prdm9 gene encodes a histone-3-lysine-4,36-trimethyltransferase that specifies meiotic recombination sites and guides programmed double-strand breaks (DSBs) in mice, rats, and humans. Some vertebrates lost Prdm9 but not fertility throughout evolution, while the removal of Prdm9 caused sterility in some mouse strains, such as C57BL/6 (B6). The reasons for such species-specific fertility differences are unknown. To resolve these different requirements for PRDM9 in fertility, we produced Prdm9 mutants in another mammalian species, Rattus norvegicus, strain SHR/OlaIpcv. The removal of Prdm9 function did not completely abolish fertility in rats (as in B6 mice). Here I demonstrate that the loss of rat PRDM9 delayed female meiosis and caused synapsis and DSB repair defects that lead to a significant oocyte loss. However, unlike Prdm9-deficient B6 mouse oocytes, about 10-15% of pachytene-like mutant rat oocytes synapsed their chromosomes and repaired DSBs to the levels similar to controls. Because of this, female rats lacking PRDM9 maintained some oocytes until adulthood and yielded offspring, while B6 mice lost oocytes around the time of birth. Nevertheless, the adult rat mutant oocytes were exhausted earlier than the control adult rat oocytes. Therefore, PRDM9-lacking female rats suffered from...
Womenś awareness of methods of assisted reproduction in the Czech Republic
Dolejšková, Michaela ; Černý, Andrej (advisor) ; Šimják, Patrik (referee)
The theme of my thesis is women's awareness about the methods of assisted reproduction in the Czech Republic. The work is devided into a theoretical part and practical part. In the theoretical part I deal with the physiology of reproductive organs of women and men, further I describe the term infertility and its causes. In the following chapters I focus on the process of finding a specialist, subsequent examinations and possible methods of assisted reproduction. In the practical part I examine the awareness of women in this area. As a data source I use an anonymous quantitative questionnaire, shared on social networks, filled in by women of different ages. 193 women completed the questionnaire. I made several hypotheses, which I confirmed or refuted thanks to the answers. Research has confirmed the hypothesis that more than half of women know when and to which doctor to address fertility problems. Subsequently, the second hypothesis was confirmed-most women know at least some of the risk factors affecting fertility. Furthermore, I assumed that most women are aware of the importance of age in the pursuit of conception. Although I confirmed the hypothesis thanks to a questionnaire survey, but not every woman knows how low the age at which fertility reduction begins to manifest. I refute the...

Influence of latent toxoplasmosis on human fertility
Hlaváčová, Jana ; Kaňková, Šárka (advisor) ; Calda, Pavel (referee)
Toxoplasma gondii is one of the most widespread parasitic protozoa in humans in developed countries. It has a wide range of hosts including various warm-blooded animals and humans. Recent studies suggest that it could influence the fertility of humans. The aim of this work was to find out, what is the prevalence of toxoplasmosis in groups of women and men with fertility problems and whether Toxoplasma gondii has an effect on specific fertility parameters. In women, Significant positive correlation between toxoplasmosis and the percentage of oocytes in the follicles was found among women. Group of men with semen pathology diagnosis revealed a statistically significant negative association between toxoplasmosis and the percentage of morphologically normal sperm. It seems that latent toxoplasmosis in men can also worsen the negative effect of tobacco smoking on fertility. The impairment of fertility in men could be the result of the manipulation activity of Toxoplasma gondii, which leads to more frequent sexual intercourse due to decreased ability to conceive. This could increase the likelihood of sexual transmission, which is currently suggested as one of the possible ways of transmission of toxoplasmosis.

Infertility of the 21th century and it's solution
Přibylová, Hana ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Thorovská, Alena (referee)
ABSRACT: Problems with infertility is very actual theme, each sixth couple, which decide to have children, deal with the problem of infertility. This bachelor thesis makes efforts to give a summary of possibility. At first there is a clarification of infertility (both the men's one and the women's one), causes of sterility and possibility of screening infertility (including immunology issues). The thesis is focused on varius opportunity of solution the problem: form of treatment infertility, especially assisted reproduction and it's varius modifications. Very discussed solution is surrogate maternity, which is elaborated. And at last the opportunity of adoption, which is for many people the end of unsuccessful treatment. The research part is aimed at describe and analyse individual case of women, who are forced to deal with given problem, which opportunities the women choose or chose (with respect to state of health, life attitude, faith and financial opportunities). The conclusion of research part is formulation of advices and recommendations to women centend with sterility or to women who wil be forced to solve this problem.
